Exeter is a flourishing, dynamic and historically significant city set in the beautiful county of Devon. The city is home to a magnificent cathedral; the award winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum; and the top-performing University of Exeter. The city is large enough to host a thriving shopping, sporting and cultural scene while at the same time small enough to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with an excellent quality of life.

Exeter City Council lies at the heart of the city: we provide a range of key services for local citizens and promote the economic prosperity of the whole area.

Our Housing Service manages and maintains around 5,000 tenancies and almost 1,000 leasehold properties in Exeter. We provide a first-rate range of services to around one tenth of the population of the city.

The Housing Team has recently procured a new housing management system (OPENHousing) and is looking to recruit a Housing IT System Officer to support its implementation. Therefore the following vacancy have arisen on a 23 month fixed term basis:

You will be responsible for supporting the timely and effective implementation of the new housing management system. Communicating with various stakeholders effectively is key, providing housing system administration, support and training to all staff. You will work closely with the housing teams, our I.T. providers (Strata Service Solutions) and suppliers during the implementation, being a champion and offering specialist housing technical support.

This role would suit someone who is keen to learn, innovative in sourcing solutions and confident to interact with various teams. You will be assertive in gathering data to proactively troubleshoot issues, ensuring that the new system is designed and implemented effectively. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, 'can-do', self-starter who has project delivery experience. The successful candidate will ideally hold a professional ICT qualification or be able to demonstrate relevant experience.
