Salary: GBP24,510 - GBP26,805 plus essential car user allowance

You will have wide experience of working with contractors in parks and open spaces and the green environment. In particular you will have managed contractor's providing grounds maintenance and landscaping services for clients. You will be enthusiastic about working to provide parks and open spaces that are an asset to the borough and residents.
As part of a busy team you will be inspecting works and monitoring contractors providing grounds maintenance services in parks, on the highway, in the Borough cemeteries and at some schools.
You will also be responsible for inspecting contractor's works and ensuring they are completed to specification, and inspect sites to ensure they are safe.
You shall have experience in proposing, procuring and supervising minor horticultural and landscape works.
You will survey sites to maintain accurate grounds maintenance site inventories.
As part of your responsibilities you will liaise with the Cemeteries Officer to ensure that the sensitive cemetery processes provided by the contractor comply with Cemetery Regulations.
As you will be liaising with the public, schools, contractors and outside organisations to deal with all enquiries about the services either in person or by mail, you will have good communication skills.
As a minimum you should possess a qualification in relevant horticultural or landscaping disciplines and be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the supervision of Grounds Maintenance Contractors and the on-site management of parks and open spaces.
Experience of cemetery management and the use of portable hand held IT data collection systems would be an advantage.
A full driving licence is essential and you must be prepared to participate in regular shared weekend overtime.
