Full-time, 35 hours per week, until 31/03/19 (with the possibility of extension)
Location: The Woolwich Centre, Wellington Street, SE 18 6HQ
Making Royal Greenwich safe for everyone who lives, works or studies here is the key objective of the Safer Greenwich Partnership. The Council's Safer Communities Team leads work across a range of crime reduction priorities. We need a Community Safety Officer to lead on and coordinate a number of problem solving and crime reduction initiatives, with a focus on partnership working.
You will need experience of community safety or related work and a thorough understanding of the main issues, objectives and framework for crime prevention and reduction. Excellent inter-personal skills to support your work with a wide range of partner services and ability to use initiative are key skills for our lively, friendly team.
The vacancy arises through secondment of an existing team member until March 2019; there is a good prospect of securing funding to extend the secondment to March 2020.
A successful DBS check will be required
