About the role

In this brand new role, you'll be responsible, on behalf of the Programme Manager and Senior Responsible Owner (SRO), for the specification, procurement and implementation of a Joint Adult & Children's Social Care system that will support the our transformation plans. The role requires effective co-ordination of the project and management of any risks and issues arising. It also includes the close co-operation with senior social care managers in the implementation of new models of practice and with senior managers in finance and technology services to design and implement new processes.

You'll work with key stakeholders, including routinely working with Service Directors, to ensure the successful delivery of the project, establishing and managing project governance arrangements and lead the project team, comprising technical staff from the ICT service and staff in Adult, Children's and Health Services.

Managing the production of required / allocated project products from planning through to implementation and to effectively manage budgets and resources allocated for achieving those objectives, you'll also monitor and manage all aspects of projects as detailed in MSP / PRINCE2 or other agreed project management methodologies using adopted project management and resource planning tools.

Please note that this role will be appointed to on a 24 month fixed term contract.

About you

With significant relevant experience of managing a significant change project in a large public sector organization, you'll have a good understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties. With knowledge and understanding of IT systems used across social care, you'll have a proven track record of effectively managing significant budgets and ensuring the delivery of services within agreed resources. Applying your understanding of change management techniques and business case processes, you'll be able to develop sound business cases.

An excellent communicator, you'll be able to build relationships at every level throughout the organisation and have the credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the programme. A relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience is essential for this role.
