Deputy Manager Occupational Therapist (Mental Health)
As a relatively new team, set up in December 2017, the Care and Support team (mental health) is looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to help lead and develop the service.
We are a team of social workers, assistant practitioners and occupational therapists aiming to provide a recovery focused service to the adults of Southwark with mental health problems. Our goal is to help the adults achieve the social care outcomes they want, maximising their independence, confidence and skills .We work to improve the wellbeing of adults with mental health problems in line with the Care act 2014.
We work closely with primary care, secondary mental health services and third sector providers to maximise the opportunities available to support adults. We want to embed OT theory and practice into the work that we do to ensure all the adults in our service are reaching their full potential.
We need an experienced and skilled OT to be one of the two deputy managers in the team, to lead on developing the mental health OT pathway and supervising the OT's in the team. You would also assist the manager in providing leadership for the whole team, to continually improve our service and the outcomes for our clients. You would also work with a small caseload of clients to continue to develop your OT skills, and act as a role model and expert practitioner within the team.
We are committed to the learning and development of our staff and you will be encouraged to try new approaches and supported to maximise your potential. We will invest in providing the resources you need to develop professionally, through a combination of informal on-the-job and formal development programmes.
