The key duties of this post are:

You will work in partnership with Team Manager colleagues to ensure that Adults Assessment Team is responsive and needs led.
Provide professional and management support, supervisory and leadership to a team of social work staff.
Ensure that a high quality social work assessment and care management practice is delivered to appropriate service users.
Ensure that the services provided by the Team are consistent with and meet the requirements of all council and national standards, policy and guidance.

The skills and experience you must have:

BA SW/CQSW/DSW or equivalent.
Considerable and varied experience and established competence as a social work practitioner is essential and detailed knowledge of Community Care Social Work legislation, standards, policy, procedures and practice.
An ability to lead and manage staff with a personal style which is likely to induce staff confidence, supporting, enabling and encouraging them to provide good quality standards of care and service.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.
