Take on a brand-new specialist role and help set the direction of travel for Treasury Management at an ambitious, commercially savvy council.
At Warwickshire County Council, we're a forward-thinking local authority at the heart of a vibrant, cultured and attractive part of the country. We have recently developed a commercial strategy that will open up opportunities for the organisation that are being explored for the first time. We're now looking for a creative, credible Treasury Manager to bring real influence to a very important role.
Delivering a broad range of vital public services, Warwickshire County Council is a large, complex organisation with gross annual expenditure of approximately £1 billion. Treasury is key to our ambitions and manages assets of over £300 million and debts of approximately £350 million.
You will act as our subject matter expert, shaping and informing our treasury management strategy and ensuring it remains a positive driving force reflecting today's fluctuating economic environment. Managing one colleague and reporting directly to the finance management team, yours is a voice that will be heard in key decision-making forums.
We're looking for proven treasury management expertise, including experience in investment and debt management, money markets, cash management and long-term financing. You'll be a CCAB (or CIMA) qualified accountant, with a wide range of personal skills. These will include the ability to:
- Identify, plan and implement innovative solutions to meet business needs
- Build strong relationships and work collaboratively
- Manage risk and performance effectively to meet and exceed expected standards
- Build motivated, high performing teams with a commitment to excellence.
In return, we offer plenty of training and development opportunities to help you keep growing in your role. And, because your long-term wellbeing is just as important to us as your ambition, we'll support you with a great work/life balance enhanced by a generous holiday allowance and access to the desirable Local Government contributory pension scheme.
