£44,838 per annum for 36 hours per week based at Consort House 5-7, Queensway, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 1YB.

About the role

At Surrey our Children's Services are on a rapid change journey with new management, innovative approaches and considerable energy. Our teams across Surrey are developing into a strong service with a stable workforce. We are determined that children, young people and their families will be at the centre of all we do and are changing our model of work to one which supports excellent children's services, with Family Resilience - early help and prevention, at the heart of our journey.

You will be responsible for further developing our contextual safeguarding approach alongside colleagues in the police and youth service, working with children vulnerable to exploitation and on the edge of care and their families. You will be responsible for a team of up to 4 social workers and 2 youth support practitioners.

As a Team Manager you will be committed to helping your Service Manager and fellow Team Managers to ensure the service your team provides is forward thinking, responsive and meets the diverse needs of our service users. You will do this by contributing to service strategies, policy and procedures as required.

You will be responsible for managing, motivating and developing your specialist team by sharing your professional leadership and support to help them deliver safe practice and effective management of their workloads. You will ensure that the practice your team delivers is consistent and under your expert guidance and supervision that complex cases and decisions are managed effectively within your area.

You will be a skilled communicator with the ability to build and foster effective working relationships with not only your team, but our partners and colleagues across the county as required to ensure there is successful co productive working across the division.

Throughout all that you do you will ensure that your team uphold and champion best practise so that together we are focused on solving problems before they escalate and we meet the needs of our Children, Young People and their families, reducing the risk of harm.
