What you'll be doing:

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Public Health Officer (Analyst) to work in a growing and forwarding-thinking Public Health Team.

The postholder will work across the public health function and will be required to liaise with other areas/departments across the council and external partners too. The postholder will report to and support the Public Health Lead for Health Intelligence and Insight, with a multitude of projects and developing partnerships to expand the work and reach of public health. You will be required to support project development, project monitoring and performance reporting, amongst other areas of business and team administration.

This will involve leading and supporting key projects such as the creation and maintenance of dashboards for performance reporting, maintaining Slough's Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) resources, and undertaking ad-hoc public health requests.

Experience in analysing large datasets, applying an evidence-based approach, reporting in line with national requirements, and evaluating services is desirable, although we will consider candidates with transferable skills. We often use the R statistical programming language, SQL, and Power BI, so some familiarity with these would be ideal, but is not essential as training can be provided.
