About the role

We are in a positive place with a strong and skilled child and families management team, outstanding practitioners and a culture of care, openness and aspiration. We have Outstanding Youth Justice Services, and Children's Social Care Services whose Ofsted report praised our 'highly effective and committed leaders that have continued to make improvements. Children are prioritised by political and corporate leaders, who have successfully strengthened early help services and have plans for further development, with family hubs opening across the borough.'

We are seeking to appoint a passionate, experienced and committed permanent Practice Leader with a strong focus on outcomes for children and young people, high practice standards and excellent service delivery, who will help us aim even higher to achieve more for our children and young people especially those who are disproportionately disadvantaged and excluded. You will have a demonstrable track record at a senior level with substantial experience in managing safeguarding, child in need and child protection work, care proceedings, corporate parenting and youth justice services.

A record of skilled and supportive senior leadership is key to this role as is your proven ability to manage and hold risk, effective, accurate case decision- making , strategic service development and problem solving. You will be expected to show confidence and credibility in advising the DSC, Cabinet Member and SLT on safeguarding, risk management, performance management and corporate parenting.

Professional Social Work qualification CQSW, DipSW, CCETSW and registered with Social Work England.
