Joint Commissioning Manager
East Sussex County Council has recognised that commissioning of individual service providers is becoming a much more important part of the overall provision of services to children and families and so is seeking to build and develop the commissioning team. Local Authorities provide a broad range of service some of which are quite targeted and specific and it often makes sense to work in partnership with other partners such as sister Local Authorities, Clinical commissioning groups and third sector organisations. So, we are looking for someone who has experience of making professional relationships across a range of other groups or companies not necessarily in the public sector but where they have developed analytical and problem solving skills working in partnership with others.
This post is within the Local Authorities Children's Services ISEND (Inclusion Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and would include working with schools, Health professionals and the voluntary sector. It's not vital for an applicant to have experience in these areas but it is important to have an enthusiasm and drive to improve services for children and young people with SEND within East Sussex.
