Housing Development Officer/ Gwasanaethau Adeiladau

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is welcoming applications from experienced housing development professionals to join its expanding Housing Development Team, within the Directorate of Environment & Housing.This is an exciting opportunity for a Housing Development Officer to join us to assist in all aspects of development project delivery and ensure we deliver on our strategic objectives to:

  • Develop a lasting and positive legacy of distinctive and well thought of homes.
  • Build homes which contribute to successful communities and growth in the local economy for present and future generations.
  • Embark on an ambitious programme of development underpinned by strong risk management and financial viability principles.
  • Take a planned approach to development opportunities which provide value for money while maximising supply.

Reporting to the Housing Development Manager you will support the delivery of Council's ambitious development programme, dealing with all aspects of the development process from inception to completion, specifically focussing on the effective management of contracts, including preparing specifications for works, contract documentation and assisting in the procurement process. Proactive in your approach, you will assist in the identification of suitable land and property opportunities and coordinate the submission of applications for Welsh Government grant funding.With a relevant degree, professional qualification or experience in housing, construction and / or property development, the successful candidate will ideally have experience of managing and delivering development projects in a similar organisation.You will have knowledge of the legal, regulatory and operational issues related to new build development services and have the ability to effectively plan and manage resources as well as manage project teams effectively.A willingness and ability to work a flexible working week, including some weekend and evenings,is required.You will also have a valid driving licence and use of a car for work purposes.

Byddwch yn rhagweithiol, yn helpu i ddod o hyd i dir a chyfleoedd eiddo addas, ac yn cydlynu'r broses o gyflwyno ceisiadau am grant gan Lywodraeth Cymru.Bydd gan yr ymgeisydd llwyddiannus radd, cymhwyster proffesiynol neu brofiad perthnasol yn y maes tai, adeiladu a/neu ddatblygu eiddo, ac yn ddelfrydol brofiad o reoli a chyflawni prosiectau datblygu mewn sefydliad tebyg.Bydd gennych brofiad o faterion cyfreithiol, rheoliadol a gweithredol mewn perthynas â gwasanaethau datblygu adeiladau newydd a'r gallu i gynllunio a rheoli adnoddau'n effeithiola rheoli timau prosiect yn effeithiol.Bydd angen bod yn barod i weithio wythnos waith hyblyg, gan gynnwys rhywfaint o waith ar y penwythnos a gyda'r nos.Bydd angen trwydded yrru ddilys arnoch hefyd, a char i'w ddefnyddio at ddibenion gwaith.
