HEAD OF PARKS
Grade: PO SCP 38 – 44 £49,459 - £57,749
Douglas City Council is seeking a new Head for its Parks Service. The service comprises responsibility for nine RHD Green Flag sites including two parks, a golf course, two cemeteries, a crematorium, two beaches, a nursery and a variety of public squares, gardens and related green infrastructure.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about their work and who has excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills in order to drive the Council’s Parks Service to reflect the needs and aspirations of the local community.
Leading the Parks Service, the successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to work within a complex and varied environment, will be experienced in leading and motivating front line services, delivering projects and working collaboratively across Council services with a range of stakeholders.

Applicants should possess a recognised degree level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in horticulture and contract management. If you hold the required qualification or equivalent, are self-motivated, committed to providing first class customer focused services, an excellent communicator with good IT skills and have excellent management skills with the ability to inspire and develop individuals, then we would welcome an application from you.
