Head of Finance (Deputy S.151 Officer)

The role will work closely with the Corporate Director of Resources (s.151 Officer) and be instrumental in helping to shape the Financial Services Team. The Head of Finance will lead on the preparation of the Council's budget and oversee the production of the Statement of Accounts under the direction of the Corporate Director of Resources.
Digital transformation is a key strand to the Council's Business Plan and the post will be responsible for overseeing the development and operation of the key financial systems including the Civica integrated ledger system and Civica Payments cash receipting system.
They will co-ordinate all work relating to monitoring the Council's revenue and capital budgets and produce regular reports, under the direction of the Corporate Director of Resources, to Members during the course of the financial year. They will support the delivery of the council's key business plan objectives and help to ensure the council's long-term financial health and sustainability is maintained.
The successful applicant will be an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
