Warrington is looking to recruit substantively to the role of Director of Children's Services based within the recently established People directorate. The postholder will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and take a lead role in continuing to deliver and develop high quality good value services for children and young people.
The role
We are looking to recruit a substantive Director of Children's Services, responsible for the leadership and management of Children's Services including Education. Providing universal and targeted services for children, young people and their families you will ensure children are safeguarded and their welfare is promoted. Working as part of a broader health and social care system in Warrington, you will develop and champion professional standards, leading on enhancing practice and driving transformational change.
You will be responsible for the delivery and strategic development within Children's Services with ability to lead other areas within the council. Working closely with local and regional partners, placing the needs of children and young people at the heart of our work, you will ensure that the principles and priorities of Children's Bill are effectively implemented.
A market supplement to the salary may be available for an exceptional candidate subject to agreement by Full Council and in line with council's Market Supplement policy. In addition, working for Warrington Borough Council means you get:

Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates can expect to meet the Chief Executive, Lead Member and Executive Director - People for individual interview, participate in a stakeholder selection panel and members appointing panel. Presentations will be required as part of the selection process and will be confirmed on invitation to interview.
