Lancashire is a wonderful place to live and work and it’s also one of the fastest growing locations in the UK. As the fourth largest local authority in the country and the largest in the North, we serve 1.2 million residents and deliver a wide range of innovative, successful services. We’re looking for three outstanding leaders to drive forward new ways of collaborative working as part of our new Corporate Strategy that will radically improve the lives of people across our flourishing county. All three roles will be located in Preston.
Lancashire County Council is looking to appoint to three Consultant in Public Health/Public Health Medicine positions on a permanent basis, for candidates who in addition to proficient technical capability are proven system leaders, committed to tackling health inequalities by leading innovative programmes of preventative public health responsibility across Local Government, the NHS and community/voluntary sector.
The successful candidates will be highly visible leaders, part of the corporate senior leadership team providing expert professional advice and guidance to elected members and officers across the Council. They will bring energy, drive and innovation to make a difference, working through the challenges to improve outcomes for people in Lancashire. We invite applications from individuals on the GMC/GDC Specialist Register/UK Voluntary Register for Public Health Specialists who are skilled at managing relationships and negotiating across a wide range of organisations, who understand the challenges faced by local authorities and the Health Service and who will display strong leadership in contributing to the work of our dynamic public health team.
