Commissioning and Contracts Officer

Salary range: £33,291 - £35,724 p.a. inc.

Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Civic Centre and other locations from time to time

The Post

This role will provide day-to-day commissioning and quality assurance of placements and services for children and young people aged 0-25 this will include children and young people in the care of Brent Council, children with disabilities and children with Special Educational needs.

The post will play a key role in building effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to include providers of services to ensure commissioning of placements and services are high quality, safe, capable of and effective in meeting the particular needs and desired outcomes for children and young people within the context of best value.

The Person

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and committed to delivering the best outcomes for children and young people, and will have experience of commissioning within social care gained in either a local authority or related environment and with a good knowledge of relevant legislative and statutory frameworks.

You will have experience of commissioning in a social care environment and have knowledge of the relevant legislative framework for looked after children, children with disabilities and children with Special Educational needs.

You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with a variety of colleagues and stakeholders and the ability to use creativity in finding solutions to complex issues. Excellent communication skills are essential.
