In this exciting new role you will be at the heart of our efforts to ensure Swindon Borough Council becomes modern, efficient and effective within the next three years.

As a member of the Corporate Management Team, your core focus will be to work with Corporate Directors to assure and drive forward robust service improvement programmes that deliver long-lasting change.

Building on recent achievements such as Ofsted grading our Children’s Services as ‘Good’, this role will maintain a laser-like corporate eye on continuous improvement. You’ll be the catalyst making sure we maximise our resources and harness technology to deliver services efficiently and effectively.

With a collaborative style, tenacity and resilience, you’re naturally found at the centre of things. Confident, challenging and curious, you instinctively hunt down relevant best practice and use evidence and insight to fuel service improvements.

This leadership role will make a key contribution to embedding a high-performance culture across the Council, in which every team and colleague feels empowered and supported to give their best.

Responsible for a broad array of critical support functions including IT, HR and Legal Services, you’ll draw on your credibility and sound judgement to act as an internal senior advisor on all resource matters.
