Contract Type: Permanent (Full Time)
Salary: £27,943 - £40,612 dependent on experience (pay award pending).
Working as part of a small specialist team we are looking to appoint a person to assist with the day-to-day work of the Licensing Team at North Herts Council.
Responsibilities
- Deal with initial applications and the preparation of licences and permissions.
- Provide advice and guidance, report writing, and the inspection of licensed premises.
- Investigate complaints and undertake formal enforcement action as required.
Qualifications and experience
- Previous experience, or knowledge, of local authority licensing functions, particularly regarding the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, hackney carriage and private hire licensing, and other local licensing regimes.
- The ability to prioritise, plan and manage your time effectively to meet demanding deadlines.
- Experience of communicating verbally and in writing with a wide range of audiences.
- The ability to undertake licensing enforcement activities and premises inspections.
- A willingness to undertake recognised licensing qualifications such as the Professional Licensing Practitioner Qualification from the Institute of Licensing.
