We are creating a new Transformation and Improvement Team to drive fundamental change across the organisation. As Assistant Director of Improvement and Corporate Policy, you will play a central role in setting the strategic direction of the council, ensuring our policies, plans and improvement activity are clear, coherent and focused on long term sustainability.

You will lead the development of the council's corporate policy framework, including the corporate plan and future borough wide strategy, while overseeing delivery and assurance against our recovery plan and ministerial directions. This role sits across strategy, policy and improvement, requiring sound judgement, political awareness and the ability to connect ambition to delivery.

Working closely with elected members, senior leaders, Ministerial Envoys and partners, you will ensure clear reporting, meaningful engagement and a strong culture of learning and continuous improvement. You will have line management responsibility for colleagues within the wider transformation and improvement team , supporting them to work collaboratively across services and embed good governance, assurance and accountability.
