Adults Team Manager - Learning Disabilities & Autism Team - Surreywide
GBP51,979 per annum for 36 hours per week. This role will be based in two locations which are Guildford BC, Millmead House (GU2 4BB) and Quadrant Court, Woking (GU22 7QQ). We are working with our partners to develop an integrated service and improved journey for residents. As part of the Adult Social Care centralised learning disabilities and autism team you will work closely with the existing team manager to lead our work to transform lives.
The significant financial challenges we face mean we have to ensure that we make best use of available resources to meet the changing needs of people. We are building on strong foundations with our partnerships with our voluntary and business colleagues. Our Cabinet has recently approved an approach that will develop significant additional supported living accommodation that will over the next 5 years help to reduce by half the number of people living their lives in a residential care home.
We will be bold, being honest about where we can improve people's experience and we will celebrate our successes. We will check with residents to ensure that we are making a positive difference to their lives.
We are looking for a second skilled and motivated professional to manage the new Adult Social Care countywide learning disabilities and autism team.
In this role you will ensure that services are high quality and customer focused while taking responsibility for leading the team and managing resources. As the team manager for this specialist service you will ensure consistent practice and will be part of the long term development of the Council's all age learning disability services.
Your remit will include building effective relationships with individuals, their carers and families, as well as a range of care providers, district and borough councils, health partners and the voluntary sector. You will work alongside specialist commissioners. You will put measures in place for risk management and business continuity and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and creative and with a can-do approach. A social work, occupational therapy or other relevant professional qualification together with significant knowledge and/or experience of health and social care will be essential.
You will have a sound understanding of and commitment to the personalisation agenda. You will bring substantial experience of managing the delivery and improvement of social care and will have applied knowledge of adult social care legislation. You will have a commitment to supporting carers and empowering people through direct payments. You will have strong experience and knowledge of safeguarding adults.
You will bring experience of the successful management of staff, in accordance with the Councils Equality and Diversity policy. You will manage performance and development while successfully addressing conduct, attendance and performance capability issues. You will be skilled and experienced in managing budgets. Applicants must be willing and able to work and travel across Surrey.
