You are considering joining our Social Care Team at a great time. After reviewing our workforce needs the County Council has made a commitment to invest in our Social Work workforce. We are looking for an experienced person who has a general knowledge of Adult service groups, however we would welcome a person with specific knowledge of people with learning disabilities.

Within Pembrokeshire we have increasing numbers of people with complex needs being supported by Health and Social Care services. A rise in numbers of people with dementia, growing numbers of people with a Learning Disabilities and or multiple and profound disabilities. We want to modernise our social care services, making them fit for the 21st century, giving people appropriate information, choice and control, building our community resilience, therefore empowering the Service user. We believe we are well placed to motivate and transform the way we work.

The Assistant Team Manager will play a vital role in supporting, supervising the qualified and unqualified staff, providing; expert advice, support, supervision, mentoring and quality assurance. Supporting the Manager, team and service managers in ensuring the services are provided to a high standard with a focus on customer outcomes. You will be joining an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated team at an exciting time, with the new Act highlighting the importance of working with people and other agencies in partnership, you will have a key role in ensuring people have the right service, at the right time, and are fully informed of their rights to be able to make informed choices about their care and support. You will work closely with the Teams, Senior Practitioners, Team Managers, Service Manager and Health colleagues.

The Service has an ethos of professional development and continuous improvement, embracing reflection, discussion, peer support, and evidence based learning. The Assistant Team Manager post plays an integral role in this, supporting other Seniors & Managers to motivate and develop the practice and performance.
