A number of exciting opportunities has become available at Cardiff Council Children's Services, and we are recruiting 2 part Time Waking Nights Childcare Officers for Crosslands Childrens Home.

This is an exciting time to join a service which puts the individual at the heart of our work. The team works from a strengths-based (Signs of Safety) approach to meet the needs of children and their families.

The successful candidates will be part of a vital team providing a comprehensive service to young people between the ages of 11 -17 inclusive, ensuring the physical, social, and emotional care and development of the young people.

You will be awake on duty at all times throughout the night to monitor and to respond to young people's individual needs and the requirements/instruction of on-call Managers.

You will have proven experience of working with young people in a residential childcare setting, as well as the ability to complete the Social Care Wales Induction Framework within 6 months of appointment. Excellent communication skills are needed for this role, as well as a caring and friendly disposition to meet the needs of the young people.

These posts are part time and will work 22 hours per week. The salary shown however relates to 37 hours per week and will therefore be pro-rata'd accordingly.
