37 hours per week, Monday - Friday

An opportunity has arisen in the East Sussex Assessment and Planning team, part of the Inclusion, Special Educational Needs and Disability (ISEND) service, for a role of a Deputy Service Manager. You will lead a team of Team Leaders and Assessment and Planning Officers responsible for a caseload of children with EHCPs within the 14-25 age range and depute for a Senior Assessment and Planning Manger as required. You will help shape and co-ordinate statutory processes and be responsible for the statutory duties and performance of the 14-25 team.

You will be an aspirational manager with a strong commitment to developing and embedding the SEND reforms in practice. You will have a strong management experience in an Education or Children's Services field and a commitment to partnership working and co-production with parents, carers and young people. You will have an excellent working knowledge of the Children and Families Act, the SEND Code of Practice and its implementation through the SEND reforms. You will have experience of improving team performance and a proven track record of delivering results in a challenging environment. You will be an innovative problem solver who demonstrates resilience and positivity whilst seeking solutions.

At the forefront of change, you will have experience of building cohesive teams and supporting individuals through change. You will be self-motivated with a demonstrable ability to empathise with the range of concerns across our stakeholders and maintain links between the assessment and planning service, a range of partners and parents/carers.
