Over the coming year we will work with our communities to set out what we want Waltham Forest to be by 2030; how that relates to the ever-changing world, and what that means for the services and infrastructure that we need to provide. We need to make sure that everything we are doing today supports that vision, and helps our residents succeed in an increasingly uncertain world.
We need trailblazing leaders who can deliver fast-paced, people-centred design approaches to change. We will design for delivery with work that is insight led, co-created and digitally enabled, pushing collaborative working and igniting creativity.
Our Corporate Development department has been fundamental to Waltham Forest’s successful transformation. We have all of the levers to deliver sustainable change - human resources, digital, ICT, communications, culture, policy, strategy and change services.
About the role
We are aligning services around a new target operating model and have created the new role of Director of Strategy & Change. You will operate at the centre of our organisation, championing our new approach, challenging our thinking and driving change.
You will lead the development of our 2030 strategy, while driving forward key elements of the corporate development change programme, including the establishment of our change agency. You will balance long term strategy development with a practical, focused approach to the delivery of change.
You will bring significant senior strategic management experience and a track record of leading strategy and policy design that targets new ways of working and delivers outcomes for people and communities. You will be able to demonstrate an extensive track record of delivering corporate transformation and an enthusiasm for the opportunities presented by fast paced, people centred design. Demonstrating a deep understanding of the national policy and local government context, you will bring authority, credibility and influence to your relationship building.
