GBP69,855 per annum hour for 36 hours per week based at County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston Upon Thames, KT1 2DN. This position is based inside one of our main area offices, click HERE to see a 360 degree view of the building and surrounding area along with a view of the reception.

About the role

The Environment Commissioning Group Manager is a new role within the Community Protection, Transport & Environment Directorate.

The post holder will be responsible for setting up and embedding a new commissioning model within the directorate for waste and countryside services. Working closely with the Environment Delivery Group Manager and other partners the post holder will motivate and inspire others to ensure the delivery of value for money services in line with the Council's outcome based objectives. Alongside the specific role person spec requirements the post holder will need to:

  • Uphold Surrey's values and behaviours
  • Provide skills, knowledge and expertise of the council's environmental and sustainability strategies
  • Build and maintain purposeful strategic relationships with external organisations and partners
  • Have proven experience of developing and testing how best to achieve strategic outcomes and appraising options
  • Ability to draw on innovative practice across the environmental sector and suggest and implement creative solutions- deliver meaningful change
