Head of Service - Adult Social Care - Localities (Dorset)
Dorset is transforming. This once in a lifetime opportunity presents the chance to not only streamline costs, but a chance for area-wide collaboration in order to transform and redefine public services for residents in Dorset. Benefits will be realised through greater coordination strategically and operationally across the areas of health and care, infrastructure, housing and education.
As we take the first revolutionary steps towards the transformation of Dorset Council, expert leadership will be critical. Working closely with the Corporate Director, you'll provide operational direction to support the delivery of social care pathways. Under your inspiring leadership, your teams will give equal emphasis to the different needs of our residents and manage them in a coordinated way. They'll also work with partners to provide integrated care through innovative joint commissioning arrangements. The key is to make sure that services are accountable to local people and to consult with service users. Through insight, we can bring continuous improvement.
The Adult Social Care Directorate is in a good place. Lots has been done over the past two years as part of transition and improvement. We are now looking for an exceptional candidate to lead our operational locality teams, which includes social work and occupational therapy functions. You will also have responsibility for developing strong relationships with locality health, well-being boards and a range of other partners, ensuring that we are closely aligned with the STP in partnership with Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council, the CCG and NHS providers. We want a new authority that's in touch with our communities; one that will build a 21 st century economy and deliver quality services efficiently. How that happens will be down to an extraordinary team of leaders, which could include you.
If you are a qualified social worker or OT and share our energy and passion to make a real difference for our residents, then we want to hear from you. You'll have a strong track record as a successful operational leader, bringing experience in leading large-scale transformation and delivering exceptional, safe and responsive services. Influential, tenacious, financially astute and politically sensitive, you'll have the credibility and communication skills to unite our dedicated team and partners. Join us and decide how the future should look.
