Our Public Realm Division ensures that the London Borough of Hackney is clean, safe and accessible for all our residents, businesses and visitors. Environmental Services team is responsible for our council waste strategy including recycling, waste prevention and local environmental quality to ensure we protect the local environment and deliver effective front line services to our residents. This is an exciting time to join our team, to assist with the development of services to drive performance across the portfolio of recycling and waste prevention services to assist in achieving the North London Waste Authority target of 50% recycling across the NLWA authorities by 2020.
We are looking for a Waste Prevention Officer to join our team to support the Recycling Manager in delivering our Waste and Recycling Strategy. You will project manage a range of waste prevention, reuse and recycling initiatives, have a key role in implementing innovative schemes and demonstrate excellent communication skills through preparation of written reports and liaison with stakeholders. You will also ensure that performance review mechanisms are in place to monitor progress and performance of the services. Your experience, knowledge and commitment to waste prevention and recycling are what we are looking for to join our busy team. You will have an appreciation of the challenges of providing recycling and waste prevention services in an inner city location. Your project management experience, coupled with your dedication to customer service will enable you to offer best solutions to our residents and other stakeholders when developing services.
