The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham is in the process of implementing Liquidlogic to replace our existing Children's Social Care Case Management System. We are now live across Children's and will be going live in Adults in June 2018. This is, therefore, an exciting opportunity to join the Performance and Intelligence Unit as a Systems Development Officer.

As a Systems Development Officer, you will be responsible for the maintenance of Liquidlogic, including development of the systems and regular upgrades, and the dedicated support provided to the Care and Support Service. Knowledge and experience of LAS, LCS, EHM, ContrOCC (Children's and Adults') and Liquidlogic portal products is essential.

The Systems Team sits in the Performance and Intelligence Unit in Children's Care and Support Commissioning service block. The post holder is key to ensuring the development and continuous improvement of the Council's business by developing and managing systems, processes and solutions to enable the Council's Care and Support service block to identify, collect, understand and use information to manage and plan its services effectively.

Key responsibilities as part of this role include:

  • Be responsible for developing, maintenance and implementation of all Care and Support applications and other systems within both Departments. This will include making all recommendations jointly and in conjunction with System Development Manager and IT Officers for any high-level maintenance, new software or hardware that may be required.
  • Be responsible for day to day maintenance of reporting and interrogation systems.In conjunction with the Principal Systems Manager, plan and implement upgrades to these systems to ensure that Departmental business, statutory and legislative needs are met in a timely and consistent way.
  • Be responsible for maintaining robust reporting systems to enable Performance Analysis Officers to deliver statutory, legislative, and local performance statistical information to deadlines.This includes the maintenance of all reports and statistical returns extracted from reporting systems.
  • Be responsible for maintaining robust reporting systems to enable Care and Support to deliver statutory and legislative performance information. This includes the maintenance statistical returns extracted from reporting systems.

We are seeking a driven individual with a high level of experience and expertise in system implementation and development and a team player, willing to collaborate internally and externally to achieve results. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of IT social care systems and demonstrable experience in the implementation and maintenance of such systems, as well as a strong vision for continuous improvements in systems.
