Waste Commissioning Lead Officer
About the role
The Waste Management Service are now recruiting to this exciting opportunity. In this role you'll deliver waste management services by leading the commissioning of new services and contracts as well as existing complex waste contracts such as biowaste, landfill, household recycling centres, and energy from waste contracts.
You'll develop and deliver services with a high level of technical expertise, leading on major complex waste procurements and contractual framework agreements. You'll proactively manage contracts and report on performance, providing expert waste management advice to a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally, for example colleagues, customers, councillors and senior officers.

Interviews will be held on 18th, 21st, and 22nd May.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you'll be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge of waste, environmental issues, and waste diversion opportunities, together with a proven ability to contribute to service planning, improvements, and development activity.
An excellent communicator, you will be able to engage with internal and external customers and suppliers at all levels, communicating changes in policy and strategies, as well as provide expert advice, guidance, and support on complex issues.
With experience of project management, you will demonstrate initiative and the ability to manage complex plans, prioritise and co-ordinate resources to deliver priorities within time constraints.
