Data Protection Officer

£41,967 - £46,622 per annum

Location: County Hall, Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 7QP

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) to lead the Council’s Information Governance Team focused on improving the way we manage and safeguard the information entrusted to us.

You will be responsible for monitoring data processing activities on a risk based approach, identifying areas of weakness and recommending remedial action. You will provide appropriate challenge and report performance to Senior Management and elected members. You will be responsible for liaising with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and reporting breaches to the ICO in a timely manner.

We are looking for someone with excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills who can convey data protection requirements in an accessible and engaging way. You will have a positive, solutions-focused approach and will have strong negotiation and influencing skills. You will have ideally worked in a similar role in a complex local government setting where they will have effected positive organisational change.
