Service Director - Adult Care & Support
Cornwall Council is seeking to appoint a new Service Director for Adult Care & Support.
Behind our reputation as a rural idyll, Cornwall is changing fast. The technology and digital infrastructure underpinning our beautiful landscapes and coasts is outstripping the rest of the UK; we're becoming a hub for enterprise, entrepreneurialism and new thinking. We're a place that is forging ahead in the 21st Century. And our ambition for our Adult Care Services is no different.
The scope, scale and impact of our plans are all ambitious, and we are confident that by providing you with the right support, the kind of service delivery we're envisioning is possible. We have significant investment in place and we have already achieved a similar success story in Children's Services. You will ensure that we take the next steps for Adult Care in the right direction, leading the development of a new model for social work practice, driving improvement and harnessing the potential that technology offers in the delivery of health and social care in Cornwall.
Rural communities face many challenges in delivering the highest standards of adult social care, linked to isolation and stretching resources in a large geographical area. Cornwall is not the only rural area facing these kinds of challenges - but we aim to be the first to solve them through a strategic, integrated approach.
This is an incredibly exciting time for adult services in Cornwall. We know that there is a real opportunity to develop a new model of care and support that can be a leading example for all rural areas and we're ambitious for our future. If you can match our ambition and have what it takes to deliver on a demanding, change driven, high profile role where you can really improve social work practice and change lives, we'd love to hear from you.
