Senior Electoral Services Officer - Registrations
This is an exciting opportunity to join the busy Electoral Services Team in Tower Hamlets.
Reporting to the Deputy Electoral Services Manager (Registration) you will assist with the annual canvass, absent voting and monthly IER registration processes.
You will be involved in a range of duties preparing and maintaining registers and processing postal votes. This post includes various outreach activities to promote voter registrations and elections within our community.
You will assist the Deputy Electoral Services Manager (Elections) in the conduct of all elections and referenda, ensuring a transparent, professional and efficient approach at all times.
Experience of working in an electoral services office is essential and this role would suit someone looking to progress their career within electoral services. You will need to be a confident and highly motivated person who can work well within a team.
You should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of electoral law and processes, excellent IT skills, along with a proven track record of administrative and organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure. Knowledge of the eXpress software system is desirable but not essential and full training will be given.
Good communication skills are essential as you will be dealing with members of the public, Councillors and senior officers in the Council. During peak periods you will be required to work additional hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays to meet demanding deadlines for the services. Test and interviews will be held on 28th March 2018.
