Hackney is London's most diverse, dynamic neighbourhood. Hackney has more green spaces than any other inner London borough; some of the capital's finest schools; first class transport connections; excellent public services; and thriving arts, cultural and retail sectors.

We seek people with ambition, creativity and commitment to ensure our economic growth provides benefits for everyone and creates opportunities to transform the lives of residents.

There are big financial challenges for adult social care over the coming years. The structure and roles within our commissioning division have changed to address this. We know we need the best people in place. People keen to make a meaningful contribution to our most vulnerable. People with a flexible attitude, who enjoy a fast paced working environment.

If you are resourceful, resilient and results driven then we want you as part of our division.

The Senior Procurement Officer will lead on our more complex OJEU procurements for adult social care services, ensuring that they are conducted in line with legislation, Council Standing Orders and policies. You will have experience in establishing and operating contracts and service agreements. You must have excellent project planning skills and be able to prioritise your own workload.

You will provide advice and guidance to commissioners on procurement options and market engagement techniques to produce the best possible outcomes from procurement.

You must be able to build fruitful working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will negotiate with both in-house and external suppliers. You should have solid IT skills including MS Office and advanced knowledge of Excel.

Overall, you must be determined to help us use our contracted services to get the best for people who need our support.

At Hackney, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is stimulating, fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high profile organisation.
