Debt & Income Maximisation Manager £44,121 to £46,656
36 hours per week FN/15/719
Reporting into the Head of Customer Service the role involves overall managerial responsibility for all aspects of Debt Management and Income Maximisation services delivered by Customer Services in relation to Revenues and Benefits, Personal Finance Unit, Accounts Receivable and Housing Benefit Overpayments.
In addition, management responsibilities for recovery appeals, technical and provision of welfare rights information and advice services.
Knowledge & Skills:
A strong understanding of finance within the Public Sector.
Good understanding of finance based upon practical experience and qualifications maintained through Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Good understanding of key strategies, policies applicable to Debt e.g. Fair Debt Policy, case law
Evidence of delivering improvements in the debt related services e.g. Revenues & Benefits, Accounts Receivable.
Wide and in depth work experience of financial management specialising in recovery and enforcement of debt and income maximisation preferably covering the range of Local Taxes, Revenues and Benefits.
Evidence of ability to set, manage and report on financial and performance data.
Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation qualification (willingness to undertake)
Desirable Criteria Skills:
Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 Diploma in Management.
Evidence setting targets and managing performance delivery within a demanding service area.
Evidence of improvement in income maximisation and collection or service performance as a consequence of improving working practices and procedures.
Evidence of commercial awareness in the recovery of debt and the maximisation of income.
Of working at supervisory/management level within a financial/debt management service preferably Revenues & Benefits.
Of proposing and delivering lasting and continuous improvements to the services.
