Merton's Facilities Management team is changing to meet increasing demands to our high profile service. As part of this, we have an exciting opportunity for someone to mange a range of 'hard' and 'soft' facilities functions to provide good quality and safe environments to use by staff and visitors at a varied portfolio of over 100 operational sites.

You will be responsible for the general facilities management including commissioning and management of projects and keeping an overview of repairs and maintenance requirements. Candidates will have either a construction or facilities management background and a good understanding of general health and safety legislation is essential, including the management of water safety, asbestos and CDM.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in the management of a large portfolio of public buildings; be able to lead and motivate a team and build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external contractors. You will also have demonstrable experience of the control of significant revenue and capital budgets.

You will be committed to achieving customer service excellence; possess excellent communication, contract and project management skills and the ability to manage within a rapidly changing environment. A flexible attitude to work is essential as the requirements of the post are very much geared towards service delivery and meeting deadlines.
