Assessment Delivery Manager

Manchester

We're looking for an organised and confident communicator with strong technical capabilities to manage Manchester's Clinical Assessment Centre and all aspects of its assessment delivery.

The General Medical Council helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.

Our Clinical Assessment Centre carries out essential examinations to make sure we protect and maintain the highest quality of care for patients. As a senior member of the testing team, you'll oversee the delivery of both parts of the PLAB exam, Revalidation Assessment and Tests of Competence on behalf of the Fitness to Practice Directorate. It's an integral role in assuring the continued improvement of medical education and practice - and an opportunity to make a real impact on the future of healthcare in the UK.

As well as taking direct responsibility for the Assessment Delivery Team, you'll work closely with the Assessment Development Manager to create a range of pilot and other events for the GMC and external stakeholders. On a day-to-day basis, we'll look to you to publish results, plan test days, recruit staff, train examiners and manage candidate queries. But you'll also take the lead on many of our longer term needs - such as developing our Exam Management System, building relationships with suppliers, handling budgets and maintaining standards in everything we do.

To join us, you'll need to have a background in managing in a complex operational environment preferably involving assessments. Ideally, you'll have an understanding of exam principles too. You'll definitely be an influential communicator, great at customer service and incredibly organised. And as well as having an analytical brain, you'll be a great people person - with proven management experience.

In return, you'll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. We offer an attractive salary and benefits package.
