The Strategic Asset and Facilities Management Service (SAFM) is responsible for the Council's property estate. This includes all aspects of property management including facilities management, maintenance, compliance, acquisition and sale of land and buildings, and property management.

About the role

As a Facilities Management Delivery Manager you will directly deliver facilities management functions across a wide range of property assets, in particular the Council main operational Hubs , offices and depots. You will also assist with shaping and delivering the Council's efficiency savings across the Council's wider portfolio. You will lead and manage an operational team; delivering front-line facilities management functions, provide coaching and supervision support to other team members and provide technical input into a range of facilities related matters. You will have a dedicated Hub to manage together with responsibility of for a range of assets within a geographic area. In addition, you will assist with strategic planning for the utilisation and optimisation of all operational buildings occupied by Council staff.

About You

Do you have a degree in facilities management and have the ability to supervise staff and assist with their professional development, as well as your own?

You will need to hold a management qualification at Level 5 or above, with ability to use such skills to manage a team effectively and efficiently.

Using excellent interpersonal, planning and organisational skills, we will look to you to prioritise and coordinate work-loads, whilst having a natural eye for detail to spot commercial opportunities to either increase income or reduce cost.

Experience of project working, including within a multi-disciplinary team and the ability to communicate complicated issues to a wide variety of team members, customers and stakeholders is essential.
