Part Time Minority Group Administrative and Research Officer

18.50 hours per week

GBP18,746 - GBP21,268 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Location: County Hall, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 7QP

Councillors are at the heart of Nottinghamshire County Council. We are offering an opportunity to support those Councillors within the Ashfield Independents Group.

You will be responsible for providing direct support to Members of this Group. This role will include administrative and personal assistance; undertaking research and providing information; preparing briefings and writing speeches; and helping with constituents' casework.

You will ideally have an interest in the workings of a political organisation and local government. The role demands someone who is flexible and possesses a wide range of attributes including highly developed IT skills, the ability to use the internet and other resources to gather information and present it in a meaningful fashion, and the ability to deal directly with constituents on behalf of Members.

You will need to be self-motivated and be able to manage competing demands. You will also need to respect the confidentiality of the Group.

The preferred working pattern will be five mornings or five afternoons each week, with some full day working around Council meetings. There may be some further flexibility around those arrangements, subject to discussions.
