Location: Fraserburgh Respite and Meadowview Respite Peterhead
You will have a proven track record of experience in a supporting/caring role in health or social care either in the community or residential setting and an understanding of the person centred approach in relation to Health and Social Care. As well as a genuine interest in the needs and rights of adults and children with learning and physical disabilities you must also need to feel comfortable undertaking such tasks.
Genuinely interested in the needs and rights of adults and children with learning and physical disabilities you have an ability to enable individuals to articulate their needs and preferences. You are also registered or in the process of registering with the SSSC or application in process or registration with appropriate agency e.g. Nursing and Midwifery Council, General Teaching Council or a professional group regulated by the Health Professions Council. Ideally you should hold S/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care along with a relevant HNC award or willingness to commit to training.
You will be required to provide a quality short break/respite service to adults and children with learning and physical disabilities, providing support for individuals and their carers/families
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
