The key focus for Adult Services is to find ways to empower service users and their families and to develop personalised approaches to service delivery.
Expectations of service users constantly change and the challenge for Adult Services is to respond to this with innovative solutions to meet individual needs.
The Adult Services includes teams who:-

Support individuals to live within their local communities
Support individuals to access short breaks
Provide assessment and care management support from social workers within local teams
Provide an occupational therapy service by occupational therapists based in local teams
Carry out statutory interventions to have specific needs met related to learning or physical disability and mental ill health. This includes the support of the fife wide mental health officer's team

Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than GBP8.33 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.
You will require to have a social work qualification and extensive post qualifying experience within a community care assessment and care management setting. This is essential together with experience assessing and meeting the needs of adults with a range of needs within a challenging financial climate.
Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland, in addition to which appropriate registration is required.
Workers new to role must gain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within six months of start date in this role.
You will manage a team undertaking assessments of need for adults who have a range of needs in relation to learning and physical disabilities and mental health conditions.
You will also ensure that relevant statutory duties in relation to delivery of services to all adults over the age of 16 are carried out by team members.
The Individual
You should evidence a strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practice issues. Knowledge of local policies, procedures and frameworks in addition to assessment skills and the ability to work positively and closely with other agencies. You should have the ability to travel throughout Fife. In addition, you should have good, clear, written and verbal communication and presentation skills, experience in team development, a sound awareness of your own values and their impact on practice, and embody an inclusive approach to anti-discriminatory working. You should also have an awareness of the impact of stress and the ability to manage stress pro-actively.
