Stafford – with county-wide travel.

Staffordshire County Council is looking for experienced Organisational Development professionals with the vision and drive for a brand new Service which supports major transformation.

About the role

In this critical new role, you will be the strategic link between the Organisational Development Service and Council services, working to create and embed new ways of working. The key is to partner, coach and support senior managers across the Council, ensuring that our strategies are understood and fully implemented. You will be a member of the Operational Management Team (OMT), driving change, cultural development and employee engagement, supporting transformation projects and reporting progress against key indicators. Your efforts will result in more effective front line delivery, both now and in the future.

About you

Educated to degree-level (or equivalent), you will be an experienced Organisational Development professional with training in the field. You have led substantial OD interventions or large-scale transformation programmes, driving organisation-wide cultural change. What’s more, you can design OD strategy; analyse business performance; and win the respect and confidence of people at all levels. Strong communication skills and commercial acumen will be integral to your success. A catalyst for change and a champion for innovation, you understand the challenges facing local government. With these talents – plus CIPD membership (or equivalent) – you’ll be capable of deputising for the Head of the Service and leading progress.

About Staffordshire County Council

One of the largest local authorities in the UK, Staffordshire County Council is committed to providing its citizens with the highest standard of services. To that end, we’re embarking on a transformation that will enable us to work more innovatively, effectively and cost-efficiently. A major part of our plans is for Organisational Development to support corporate and service changes.  So we are setting up a new service which operates as an internal consultancy. It’s a hugely exciting development that calls for dedicated leaders with a gift for building relationships and the drive to support change. If you have the vision and determination that’s required, you could help to shape the Council of tomorrow.
