Hackney Council is looking for someone with excellent partnership working skills and a strategic outlook to lead our work to continue to build on the approach to Coproduction and Service User and Carer engagement within Adult Services. This role plays an important part in ensuring that across Adult Services we are coproducing our work with our communities, providing service users and carers with meaningful opportunities to contribute to our developing services. Your work will help make Hackney a place for everyone.

As Improvement and Innovation Officer you will be responsible for further developing and building on Hackney's approach to Coproduction, and embedding this across our services to ensure that we are providing opportunities which are open to all service users. This post is responsible for project managing the Hackney 'Making it Real' project. You will have experience of project management and excellent communication skills. You will have a strategic outlook and keep up to date with national policy and be able to build strong working partnerships with internal colleagues, partners and service users and Carers.

We need someone with knowledge, understanding and experience of the principles of Coproduction and how it works in practice. We also need someone with direct experience of working closely with Service Users and Carers to coproduce work and make changes to services.

You should be keen to develop creative ways of working that encourage positive changes to the way we do things. You will also need experience of budget management and project management processes. You must be politically aware and appreciate the sensitive nature of the work we do.

Day to day you will manage one member of staff and will work closely with colleagues across adult services. You must be able to demonstrate experience of making improvements and introducing new initiatives across a broad service area. You must be able to build good working relationships with external partners as well as other departments across the Council. To thrive in this role, you should be highly organised - able to prioritise a competing workload with a structured approach.
