The Job:

You will manage our shared Safer Communities Team across Cherwell and South Northants District Councils working in partnership with police forces, partners and stakeholders in each area; to make our communities safe places to live and work.

We are looking for a confident performance driven individual to manage our small team of Community Wardens and Community Safety Officers; supports emergency planning and business continuity; deals with antisocial behavior; leads and administers two Community Safety Partnerships and manages our CCTV function.

The Person:

  • A skilled, highly motivated experienced manager who is able to manage our shared team and build and maintain relationships with a wide range of partners in community safety.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • A competent enforcer with good problem solving skills and a knowledge of the law and particularly antisocial behavior, crime reduction and environmental enforcement.
  • A knowledge, understanding and experience of emergency planning and business continuity.
  • A knowledge and understanding of safeguarding.
  • Focused on performance and delivering outcomes practically and innovatively.
  • An interest in developing and delivering commercial services.
  • You will be available out of hours and on a stand by rota if required.
