Outdoor Services Manager SCP Range Grade 31 - 35 (currently GBP27,668 - GBP30,785 pro rata) Permanent, Part time (30 hours per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated member of staff to join the Senior Management Team at Chard Town Council. This new role will be based at The Guildhall, Chard however site visits around the town will be an integral part of this job.

Key Duties and Responsibilities of the post include:

Day to day management and administration of the Council's outdoor services.

Delivering high standards of service in accordance with the Council's policies and procedures.

Ensuring that Chard Town Council operates as an effective and efficient organisation.

You will manage a team of eight staff to deliver services across Chard that include parks, allotments, play areas, flower beds, the town's cemetery and street cleansing. In this key management role, you will be experienced in grounds maintenance and/or street cleansing with a desire to plan and deliver quality services that meet health and safety and legislative requirements. You will take responsibility for delivery of the Outdoor Services budget, providing written reports on progress to Council Committee meetings. The role may involve some weekend or evening working.

In return, we offer a salary based on national salary scale points 31 - 35 and 21 days holiday per annum (plus 2 statutory days and bank holidays), increasing to 26 days after five years' service.
