Senior IT Project / Programme Manager (Telecoms)
Hampshire County Council is a modern business - recognised nationally as one of the highest performing local authorities and a major provider of public services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior IT Project / Programme Manager to lead on the replacement of the Telecom Systems across the Council, Schools and Partner organisations. This is a critical IT project supporting the council's transformation agenda.
You will be expected to define, develop and execute a contract replacement strategy to include; review of requirements, technology, people and processes. You will lead on the procurement activity including vendor review and evaluation, and implementation of any new contracts. You will also be responsible for the scoping and shaping of the project / programme of work to deliver the new telecommunications service.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proven track record in leading complex, high profile, time dependent projects within the telecommunications sector through to successful delivery.
With strong stakeholder management skills, building and maintaining trust and confidence from your Project Boards, you will be an excellent communicator, whilst driving high performance from your project team, successfully managing risk and issues, and maintaining control of the project.
Comfortable with speaking to both technical and business colleagues, you will be able to understand and interpret complex IT issues for the relevant audience. You will also be comfortable in reporting to senior management / directors.
