Head of Community Services
North West Leicestershire has an excellent reputation as a well-run and financially secure authority, with a positive culture and strong partnerships. With a new Chief Executive recently appointed, we are keen to build upon our strengths and yet also refresh the way we operate, with a renewed emphasis on developing jobs and growth in the area as well as a sharper customer focus. We are currently looking to appoint new Head of Community Services, and this is an opportunity to be at the start of an exciting new journey in North West Leicestershire, working with a committed team to drive change for the benefit of our communities.
Reporting to the Strategic Director of Place, the Head of Community Services will run a series of key operational and customer facing services. This role is very much in the public eye, and for many of our communities their main interaction with the authority is via waste and recycling, environmental protection, leisure, or community engagement. Candidates will need senior experience in one or more of these service areas, as well as a dedication to excellent customer care and a commercial mind-set. This role is also key to ensuring the council services contribute to tackling the wider determinants of health in our district.
