An opportunity has arisen for a Social Care Officer within Beechgrove House Care Home, a service for older people providing permanent and respite care. As a Social Care Officer you will put the residents care and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do. Promoting independence, dignity and quality of life at all times in a person centred caring and supportive environment. You will assist with daily activities providing residents with both physical and emotional support and personal care as needed. You will be required to administer medication, assist with developing support plans and carry out reviews to achieve desired outcomes.
We operate a 12 hour shift pattern. You will work 3 x 24 hour weeks and 3 x 36 hour weeks in a 6 week period averaging 30 hours each week. This also includes 2 weeks of nightshift. The post includes a shift allowance.
Beechgrove House Care Home is a service for older people providing permanent and respite care placements.
You will need to be a truly caring person with a good sense of humour who can build and maintain a good rapport with the residents and their families of those in your care. This is an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy going that extra mile and who are friendly and enthusiastic about caring for others and can lead by example. A genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of vulnerable people is essential.
You will be required to register with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home service, therefore an
SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
