Sheffield City Council's Parking Services is one of the largest local authority operators in England. The service has a turnover of GBP8million per year and manages over 11,000 bays across the city. 15,000 parking permits are processed each year. Almost 100,000 Parking and Bus Lane Penalty Charge Notices were issued last year. The service is going through significant modernisation and change. Recent service improvements have included the introduction of paperless parking permits, introduction of a customer portal to support motorists appealing fines to get the right information to make an appeal and the introduction of a new pay by phone cashless parking payment provider.
We need enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are capable of driving the change the service needs, while ensuring day to day delivery is kept to the highest standard. Applicants for will have a proven track record of managing teams of people, using data systems to analyse and improve performance, as well as experience in developing effective operational plans. Experience of working in a parking related job is not essential in applying for the post as long as relevant transferable skills and experiences are demonstrated.
This job is one of four Operations Managers responsible for managing different functions within parking services. Reporting to the Parking Services Manager the successful applicant will work closely with their fellow Operations Managers to improve and evolve the whole service.
The Operations Manager - Enforcement is responsible for managing a large team of Civil Enforcement Officers, with the support of a team of Senior Civil Enforcement Officers providing first line management of the teams. The team are responsible for enforcing parking restrictions across the city. The team has recently begun to support the prosecution of Blue Badge Fraud. The successful applicant will work with the team to develop a more efficient and effective service, utilising up to date intelligence from front line staff and transport related partners.
