About the role

We are currently seeking a Commissioning Support Officer to join a small but lively, active team which monitors health and social care services. Working across the Supporting People directorate, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in an integrated and forward thinking social care commissioning team.

The Commissioning Support Officer will have responsibility for a portfolio of services - they will work with commissioners, service managers and procurement managers to develop creative approaches to service performance and manage supplier relationships. You will provide monitoring/service improvement for a range of social care services including adult residential and nursing care, care in the home and extra care services.

About you

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and good understanding of safeguarding principles in relation to adults and/or children at risk. You will have experience of monitoring service development and improving the performance of adult and/or children's social/health care services.

The successful candidate will also have a proven track record for managing large work volumes to set deadlines and working effectively with a range of professionals internally and externally within a large organisation. You will have experience in contributing to the development of flexible and innovative performance and monitoring solutions. The candidate will be proficient in gathering, analysing/interrogating and reporting on data relating to adult social care/health services.
